fur & flowers

church

It’s a funny time of year. Half of nature is waking up to spring – flowers unfurling from bulbs, lambs bouncing over fields. Yet this morning, the flowers, the lambs and I woke to a fresh fall of unexpected snow.

I wrapped up warm in (faux!) fur, but added flowers to keep a bit of spring in my heart, like the snowdrops pushing up through the frost.
My sweetheart & I went out walking over frozen fields and through frosty trees, until our toes grew numb with cold and my need for a cup of tea became urgent!

It all reminded me of a little quote I love from the wonderful archives at StoryPeople;

The birds brought seed & flowers & bits of brightly colored string & placed them in her hair while she slept so that she would remember the wild joy of spring when she finally awoke.

Hehe. Before reading this I had to scan down the page to check that the fur wasn’t actually fur. Just checking ;)

Surprised by the snow. How many times have we had snow this year? This is probably out share for the next 30 years.

Hey!!
Everywhere looks so pretty and i love love love your hairflowers. Not sure if you read my post but on Valentines day we were out walking Freddy and were walking past a little farm at the back of us, and timed it right because we saw a lamb being born. It was so lovely, and your photo of the sheep reminded me.
Hope you are okay, seems ages since we had a catch up
