The snow has melted and left behind the first whisper of spring: snowdrops!

Snowdrops enchant me. They push up every winter, and grow thick green leaves that are impermeable to frost. Unfreezable! Isn’t nature magical?
Once they’ve decided it’s warm enough, nothing stops them. They blossom regardless, in spring sunshine or under two feet of snow. It’s a life-plan I can relate to!

In the next few weeks they will double, grow from these scattered clumps into great swathes of snowy-white blossoms. I love them even more then, but right now I’m just happy to see their pretty little faces, and remember that spring is on her way!

Those are just so pretty! Can you pick a few and send them my way? I’d love to have them pop up in my yard. Oh, to be the only yard that would have them!

I saw my first snowdrops yesterday while we were out walking freddy yesterday morning. They were in the most random of places, in a little dyke just poking their heads out. I’ll take my camera next time.
Hope you are okay xxx

Beautiful photos as usual
I love snowdrops, too, they always give me such a hopeful feeling. We’ve already got daffodils poking through here, can you believe it? I like these kinds of flowers the best because they’re so sturdy and they come even if it’s still snowing. Even though they’re temporary, like all flowers, they seem braver somehow than roses or cherry blossoms that arrive later.
snowdrops?? i’ve never heard of them before, they’re enchanting indeed!
love your little spot in the cyber world.
